Hi guys, i would like to purchase a good undetectable radar detector. I want something that i will install permenently, maybe the antenna could be place somewhere hidden all the wires hidden and the '' small '' control unit be placed inside the truck somewhere that is really hard to see from the outside of the truck. Here in canada its illegal so i dont want to get caught with it. Anywone have install that kind of radar and want to give me idea's and also good model ? pictures are welcome.

Get this.http://www.valentine1.com/ My whole family & I run these for a long long time are are very good. They tell you where the cop is. Plus you can update with out buying a new one. They even have a CONCEALED display you can add.https://store.valentine1.com/Store/closeup_20110.asp

I have probably 6 V1's and they work great, but never found a good mount or mounting place in my Escalade's, so I got a passport Qi45, but I mounted mine myself, which of course they want to mount it, and I am very pleased with it

I have a valentine 1 mounted to my rearview mirror in a custom mount, and wired to the wires leading to my mirror. I have people ride in my car and not notice its there. They just wonder where rhe beeps come from.

Not quit the same, but I picked up one of these blend mounts to go with my Escort Passport 8500 X50 and it's pretty cool!

I have a Escort - Passport 9500ix and love it. With it's GPS and downloadable photo radar locations directly to the unit via its usb port it has you covered every where. My next add on is going to be their "Shifter ZR4" that jams cops with a laser because by the time you hear the laser it's to late and the cop has you.

YOu want undetectable and remote mount then the only way to go is the Beltronics Sti-R Plus (http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Beltronics-STi-R-Plus-Radar-Detector.html), Its it the best remote mounted unit on the market. If you have any questions or need pricing let me know.

So how did all these units stack up against the Valentine 1? I would just about bet they are chasing it as usual. I own two and the reason I bought the second one was the Passport went on Ebay shortly after the first one was bought. Here is what they have to say about being undetectable:

The V1 information on their site is a joke. VG2 RDD's have not been used in years. Spectre was the replacement technology for VG2, And if the past 5 years or so they are now up to Spectre IV. All of which can pick up the valentine at over 1/2 mile away. Spectre IV is being used in Virginia.

As for the price on the Sti-R Plus as listed in my footer PM me.. They are superior to the V1 and the way to go if you are in VA or Washington DC and can afford the unit.

Interesting, are there any white papers or technical data to support this? Not being a smart ass just would like to be more educated on my decisions when it comes to purchasing this type of equipment. Its not cheap when you think you have made a good decision only to find out that for $100 more you could have had something better. Typically anyone looking at this level of detection cost is not the main issue rather avoiding getting hammered with a ticket is.

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/spectre.jpghttp://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/spectre.gifHere is the Guys of Lidar 2009 Sprectre III test results. Only the Sti Driver, Sti-R were completely immune. Since the test the Sti-R Plus & Escort Redline have come out which would also be immune. The chart shows the average alert distance of 3 runs that each detector was detected against the Spectre III unit.
