: What's your favorite pie?

My favorite pie is authentic "Key Lime Pie," not the soapy imitation that the chain restaurants try and pawn off as Key Lime Pie. I have only had it a couple of times when I have been in Key West and have never had a satisfactory example of this wonderful pie anywhere else.

Do you have a favorite pie?

Pecan Pie and REAL Apple Pie (NOT THAT APPLE CRUMBLE/APPLE CRISP GARBAGE RESTAURANTS SERVE) would be tied for first place, followed by Key Lime and then Coconut Cream.

I think I'll leave this one alone!

I agree "real" apple pie is consistantly among the best pie you can find around the country. That "Apple Crumble/Crisp" pie is unadulterated garbage and should be confined permanently to the pig trough!

Orconn, Publix, of all places has the best key lime pie you'll ever eat. Discovered that one while in Florida on vacation once, they had a bunch of them on sale in a cooler at the front of the store where you walk in. Any time we need a small "birthday cake" I always buy one of these.

As for the best pie ever, I visited my aunt Pollie a couple of weeks ago. She has a patch of black raspberries on her property that she had just picked. Homemade black raspberry pie, by a woman who has probably been making them for the better part of 70 years(she's 93 or 94, I forgot).

#1. Karen's South Carolina pecan pie, entirely from scratch.

#2. Her lemon meringue pie - same ^^^.

#3. Her apple pie, same ^^^.

#4. Her cherry pie, same ^^^.

She absolutely loves to bake stuff. (Chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies, anyone ???)

She has a small nylon "cookie flag" which she places by the road when she's baking - the neighborhood kids (all 6) love it.

Everything is awesome at Publix, especially their sandwiches

A guy from Florida opened a restaurant here and serves a pretty amazing key lime pie dipped in chocolate, on a stick

Unfortunately, Publix has seen fit to spread its wings to the Old Dominion as yet! So I can't comment on their pies. As they come highly recommended here, I would welcome the Publix grocery chain to Virginia.

Until recently we had Ukrop's supermarkets, a family owned chain, which many in Central Virginia swore by for baked goods. I found there baked goods inconsistent at best.

My favorite was my mom's coconut cream pie... I can get kind of close, but not really...

My runner up is the sour cream crust apple pie with cinnamon ice cream at Annie Gunn's in Chesterfield, MO (near Jesda)...

My preferred dessert:
A box of double chocolate Ghirardelli brownie mix, mix a whole bag of chocolate chips into it before baking. After baking, smother the top with a layer of melted peanut butter. You can stack multiples of these as a layer cake. Did it for my birthday last year. Lol. It's amazing that I look like I do with my eating habits... Hahaha
