Yup...I'd hit that. :)

....the car has been ‘limited' to 187mph....

That'll get you back and forth to the grocery store in a hurry.

one thing about mercedes.....i have own 3 of them so this is my experient..
when they run..they run perfect ( in a short time)...
but..they break alot..require a lot of maintenance.

the old benz < 1998 is bullet proof..
the news benz >2000 i don't want own any car after 80.000 miles. it is the time for replacing PART..a nightmare.

Call me weird, but I would totally rock out an old W201 190e with the 2.5 5 cylinder turbo diesel, with a manual tranny too.

Although I'd take the keys to that wagon if you were just going to give me a car though.

Met a guy in PA who took his Cosworth 190 around our autocross course. Such an awesome gentleman's race car.

Back in the days before they extended the "new" car warranties to four years 48,000 miles, Mercedes started costing you for replacing expensive (some would say ridiculously expensive parts) a lot earlier than 80,000! I don't know about the relative replacement cost for parts (Mercedes vs. other brands) in other than U.S. markets, but in the U.S. Mercedes parts are stupidly expensive as is the "expert" labor charged by dealers to put these parts in the car.

Ah yes the 190E, the Mercedes that allowed those newly arrived to the realm of upper middle class income to enjoy a "new" Mercedes. If the experience of many of my friends back in the 1980's in Southern California was typical, this model introduced many to feel of quality in an automobile and the cost of that feeling. Among the folks I knew, who owned them (for about three years till their lease ran out) the cars proved trouble prone and as expensive as their senior brothers to maintain in good running order. Many of these folks left Mercedes ownership ranks for more senior BMW models, which the word was were no less costly to maintain, but were more fun to drive. Let's face it the "everyman's" (non hyped $100,000 and above Mercedes) is not that invigorating nor even special to drive. They were heavy, under powered sedans that impressed with their build quality only to let their owners down when it came to reliability. Let's face it, if you spent the same amount on a Cadillac, or even a Chevy to maintain it as you spent on a Mercedes over a 200,000 mile period the American cars would be in pretty impressive shape too!

lets me give an example
my father 2004 Mercedes S500.
when it 50.000 KM ( not miles) we replace the ignition swich because it died. I put the key in and it can't turn. replace both of them cost him 1500$.
after that : replace Transmission control module at 60.000KM cost 1500$
then now at 80.000km it need new Air Shock which will cost 5000 $. It can't stand. The front of the car is lower than the rear

i do not mentiion the oil change or air filter...just the part need to be replace.

my car C200 Kompressor 2003.
when it 50.000km new AC compressor cost me 1500$.
control arm and ball joint cost me 2000$.
new power steering pump 500$.
....
i need to let it go..event i love it.

and now is the error which i don't know what will happen
