So I've been reading through a lot of threads and see mentions to Camaro's everywhere. I have a 2010 2SS/RS that I will be trading in for my 2012 Black Diamond coupe. So how many of you guys and gals had a 2010+ Camaro's?

I have, uh, er, my wife has a 2010 Camaro 2LT. She was instrumental in my decision to buy a 2011 CTS-V sedan by saying something like "You could die tomorrow without ever having a car with 500+ horsepower, so I think you need to buy the CTS-V."

She's a keeper. I gotta find me one like that.

500 is so 2008,

600 is where it's at these days.

I have had a couple Camaro's but not a new one. I had a 1994 and most recently, a 2002. I honestly don't care for the Gen 5 Camaro's. Too hard to see out of. I'm sure the vert's are better but I test drove a coupe and hated it.

I had a '98 SS that I bought as a dealer demo in '98 and sold it last year. Over the years, I continued to modify it and it evolved into a great road course car.
I've been involved with the "Camaro Team" since '07, providing input (when asked) as part of a group of long-time Camaro enthusiasts on the 5th Gen car Couldn't wait any longer for the ZL1 and got the V last year...

I had a 2010 Camaro SS that I sold to have room for my CTS-V. While the Camaro was a blast and a real head turner, I have no regrets on getting my V. I am now looking for a 1969 Camaro to be my next project. Here are some pics of my 2010 Camaro SS....

Not a huge Chevy guy, I'd rather be different and go old school with Pontiac.

Only Buicks here.
1965 Buick Gran Sport (Big Block Nailhead Skylark)
1987 Buick Grand National (Still got this one)

Wife has a 2009 Trailblazer SS. Great tow vehicle.

Never owned a Camaro or Corvette, but drove a bunch of them over the years.

Considered a Camaro for a second car. Does that count?

"How many of you had (as in ever?) a Camaro."
Close! Through the years, I owned six Trans Am Firebirds. With termination of the "F" Body, I evolved to driving Corvettes. And, at last, thanks to world competition and Cadillac's intent to compete directly with the BMW M-series, I now own a CTS V Coupe as well as a Corvette. Thank you so much.

Lets see, my first car was a new 1992 z28 camaro for the 15th birthday "It was my favorite car back then and that is what i wanted" Still like the looks of it as well. went thru 22 camaros/transams of that era " 1984-1992" " wrecked, sold, broken, mia, ect... , skipped lt1 all together, then owned 6 or so ls1 based 1999-2002. Then a few transams here and there. I wish i would have kept the turbo transam, that thing was pretty fancy for the 90s.. Then a few of the ls1 based 1998 up. Even a lingenfelter Hurst car, But i sold that to a guy that wanted it really really really bad..

I had looked into buying a few of the 2010 camaros, but the interior is just toooooooo ugly, non high tech for a 2010 car, so i just never could break down and get one..

HOWEVER, i have 2 Zl1s on holding/preorder/downpayment for when those are ready/ delivered to my dealer... That makes up for the crappy interior. ;)

I still don't understand everyone's hatred of the interior. Interior ergonomics surpass just about anything else I have owned. If one doesn't like the looks of the interior, well, perhaps one should be keeping one's eyes on the road more...

Had This 2010 2SS/RS - sat in the garage, and now they are every where. Got the "V" and and everyone fits. Also the 130 additional horsepower is magical :P

Everyone hates it because it is simply ugly & cheap looking. Hell, my 69 Z which is 42 years older looks better than the interior of the new Camaros. You would have thought with 42 years to get it right, they would have done a little better. Hate to say it, but Dodge & Ford both did a much better job design wise in regards to the retro look of the original muscle cars. For the record I am GM all the way.

JimmyH

So what makes it ugly exactly? And what makes it cheap exactly? I still have yet to see anyone describe the visual difference between "cheap" and "expensive" materials. If it comes down to plastic versus leather, well, if you want to pay $1000 more for a leather dash, God bless you. I'll keep the $1000 and take the plastic.

jft69z
08-22-11, 12:36 PM
It has nothing to do with leather vs. plastic.
The dash & the controls simply remind me of a cheap $100 "boombox" that you can get at Walmart.
