On a stock LS 5.3 truck short block. Purpose was to break the motor. Well, ran out of spark at 27psi( twin turbo), motor still strong after 60+ pulls. They did port the stock heads and increase the top ring gap. THats it according to the article. Cast crank, rods and pistons I believe( correct me if I'm wrong).pretty cool IMO

yea i knew Jesse was on a mission to break a motor and as far as i know that never happened. i would like to see a tuner get a drop in to do this and see what it can take. he told me the other day these aluminum blocks start to distort above 700hp and really need sleeves or a different block. i've got a sleeved block coming next month for a big build.

When they checked the crank the motor turned out to be a little 4.8....not bad for a 294 liter block with stock internals. I may heave to re-think the engine for my next project

yep, actually a 4.8L. 1200+hp which would be what, at least a 1000 hp to the ground. From a motor smaller and *less built* than ours. ;) I believe our blocks will be proven to withstand much more than 700hp, give it time. Cool article none-the less.

I would love to see what the LSA would do with a twin turbo setup instead of the supercharger.

as long as you dont detonate one or run it lean, they are excellent motors....I have seen more 1000 plus HP LSx motors that are street driven than any BBC or Ford motors.
