The previous owner of my car had the radio redone by some guy locally. He put his stickers on the back of everything radio related in the car. I have the Bose speakers for the car removed because I'm not using them. Now I need a drivers side window switch.....anyone want to make a trade? I'll post some images tomorrow morning.

hey what exactly is wring with your switch? are all your metal rocker contacts in there?

problem is when I was removing the door to get the speakers out I pulled on the switch and the metal rockers came out and I don't know how to put them back so.....no windows working.

o thats easy, you have all of the metal pieces right? there are 4.
the rocker should sit inside the switch the way the one in this image it sitting. the part that dips and has the tabs on it should be down and in the middle of the switch area
for the first (furthest left) spot youll want the rounded part facing forward and the squared off facing back. for the second you'll want the squared one facing forward and rounded facing back, third you'll want rounded forward again and squared back, and fourth squared forward rounded back
by froward i mean the part of the switch that faces the front of the car back means facing the rear of the car

if i get back to my switch before it gets dark ill open it and post a pic

Thanks for the help but I guess I lost two of them because I did not even know there were four. Not that I want to break my passenger switch but I wonder if I could just take those out and use them on the driver...it can control both windows anyway. Oh those pics would help when u get time.

i had the same luck, and tried to do the same thing BUT, the switches are co-dependent for the passenger window
the passenger switch will not work if the driver switch isnt right
the drivers switch (for passenger window) will not work if the passenger switch isnt right
I have yet to find another switch at the junkyard that has those pieces in the correct size
as you can see in the pic i posted, i tried to make my own. out of the 6 i made, ONE was good enough to be used as a substitute. I ended up buying another passenger window switch for 85. Since the rocker i made was so flaky, i put it in the driver side to pass current only and use the passenger switch to roll the window down.

That's to funny because I was thinking maybe I could fabricate them also but if you made that your self and it didn't work I don't think I could do much better. What really sucks is the cheapest driver switch I have found is $250. For some reason the passenger is only like 40 bucks. I may just buy a passenger switch and remove the rockers.

make sure if you buy the 40 one they have pics of it being a driver switch
thats not a bad idea though
alot of parts on the allante are stupid expensive.
