Thanks to a minor miracle, I was able to attend the annual All GM show held in the San Fernando Valley today. Despite all the hype about the closing of the 405 freeway, the turnout was very respectable, and traffic was excellent (meaning nonexistant). Here are a few pics.

First, I offer a selection of wagons and orange as an apology to Stingroo for being unable to make it to FL this weekend.

I am in LOVE with that Cadillac. Holy freakin' crap that car is awesome.

I do believe you posted photos of it at last year's show, too... no?

Maybe somewhere else, but I think I've seen it before.

No regrets - meet didn't occur. Shooting for December!

Moar pics! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!

Also, the Olds hearse is by Cotner-Bevington.

The Buick "woody" pictured above is actually a 1953 not a 1950. The 1953 Buick Roadmaster "woody" was the swansong for American real wood production wagons. From that point on those wagons that were done up like woodies had vinyl and fiberglass applique that was printed and molded to look like real wood. These early appliques weathered very poorly and after a few years from new looked especially ugly. I believe the last of these "appliqued" fake woodies were produced by Chrysler and used on their "K" car wagons and a "Town and Country" convertible.

Those '48 and '49 Series 62 convertibles are absolutely beautiful. I had always wanted to have one of these in a collection. There is something about the size and design (and of course the '49 had the Kettering V-8) that was just about perfect. One of my all time favorites, follwed closely by Sedanette coupoe version of these cars.

Having put in many miles driving a 1956 Fleetwood, I can honestly say that I would leave them to their admirers!

Love that gold 77 Trans Am. I normally hate gold cars, but it looks so righteous and so 70's on that car.

Also, is that the factory seat upholstery on that 1979 Cutlass? Ridiculous if it is.

As for the hood ornaments, I like them on all the old Cadillacs, and the 90's Fleetwood and Deville. Always drove me nuts that the 90's Concourus Deville didn't have one, and that they completely did away with them on the 2006+ DTS. I always thought they looked goofy on the 90's Seville SLS, that body style was very modern and Italian, it didn't need that sort of throwback.
