I echo the same sentiments. Also, IIRC the Escalade has the highest amount of money per each insurance claim.

I got my Escalade broken into summer 2003 at giants stadium. I parked in between two other Escalades, thought I would be safe. I came back the Escalades were stolen and I had my indash tv and dvd player ripped out. They messed up the passenger door key hole. The whole dash and everything was messed up. I could not tell how much gas I had, how fast I was going or anything. I am planning on buying a real cheap car for like $900. That way I don't have to worry about my car. Also you could not open the passenger door from inside. I got to see how the dealerships fixed it and boy they ripped the whole dorr panel off to fix it.

that report is only for 2001-03 model years. this doesn't mean the Escalade is the most stolen in America.
the top ten stolen for all model years is (as of March 2004):
1. 1989 Toyota Camry
2. 1994 Honda Accord
3. 2000 Honda Civic
4. 1992 Chevrolet Fullsize C/K Pickup
5. 1997 Ford Fullsize 150/250/350 Pickup
6. 1993 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee
7. 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass/Supreme/Ciera
8. 1994 Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan
9. 1996 Ford Taurus

sounds like you got lucky they only took your dvd player. could have been a lot worse.

Probally the top reason these trucks are so frequently stolen is the owners have added alot of aftermarket parts i.e. audio, video, interiors, wheels tires etc. There stolen parts removed and resold/reused. But I'm sure a percentage are also stolen for joy rides. Just my .02

Luckily my truck has never been broken into, but I think its just a matter of time till some *** tries it. One of the good things about having bags, and main reasons i want bags on my escalade, is becuz of the kill switch you can add to it, Good luck getting that thing out of the parking lot while its scraping the ground and cant turn without rubbing a chunk of the tire off.

There is no passenger side keyhole.

Yes there is a key hole on both sides of the door. I have a 2002 Escalade. I saw that it was destroyed when it got broken in. Maybe they changed the year after. I have a key hole on both of the front doors.

I have a friend that had a 02 and he has a key hole on both sides. My 03 has them on both as well. I know the 04's only have them on the drivers side. i dont know if these will do me any good but i covered my keyholes.
