Nice! What will be its name?

Lord Cadillac
07-12-11, 04:14 PM
No official name yet - but it's planned to take over for the XTS. So if the XTS is actually named XTS, this might just be the "new" XTS. Or, if the DTS replacement is simply called DTS as it should be, it could just be named DTS.. I have a feeling, however, they'll want a new name for this car if it actually happens. Details can be found here (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/2015-cadillac-omega-forum/234924-rwd-v8-cadillac-premium-luxury-sedan.html).

Quite possibly!

Until I see one in my Cadillac showroom, I'm not believing it. GM North America hasn't committed to building world class large sedans since 1977.

Eh, they were all crap. Cadillac is building cars right now that some car rags are calling the best cars America has EVER made. '77 Caddy, whatever...

key phrase bolded

... i agree with both tbjs and sal though - for their time the big cadillacs were where it was at, but now GM's making the best cars they've ever made

the two statements are not mutually exclusive

The flagship is not even a clay model yet. When all is said and done, this isn't supposed to be just "another big car" on the market. It's intended to have the same type of impact the Escalade had with the 2002 model. This is going to be a car that people of high status want to be seen in...

Let's hope they build off of the Cadillac Sixteen concept!

I don't really like some of the details of the Sixteen (wheels and grille mostly), but I love the shape of it. I think that the smooth lines, a sloping roof line and a high hood/trunk ratio makes for a good looking car.

Enormous rear overhang? Compared to what? a Smartcar maybe.

I like the Sixteen, less the wheels, give it a little more window width and a spot more trunk length and i think it would make a great senior Cadillac sedan.

Keep in mind when the 16 was built, and then factor in the improvements to the A&S theme since then... The basic structure of the 16 is fantastic, great proportions...and its a 'real' Cadillac by all accounts...Huge, overpowered, highly stylized...

Yeah the CTS line is impressive, but it isn't a BIG car. I still say the last "standard of the world" large Cadillac was the 1977 Fleetwood Brougham. That was something people still cross shopped with a Mercedes S-class.

What does a guy have to do in Hanoi to afford such expensive cars?

I had NO idea what Jim meant by "couple" but now I see.. It's a CTS-V Coupe. I'm guessing "Couple" is just a typo...

My name is Michael Westen. I used to be a spy. When you're burned, you've got nothing. No cash, no credit, no job history. You're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in.

You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who's still talking to you. A trigger-happy ex-girlfriend... An old friend who used to inform on you to the FBI... Family too... If you're desperate.

Bottom line: as long as you're burned, you're not going anywhere.

JimmyH

I was wondering how you got stuck in St Louis. I thought maybe you got swindled into buying Cardinals season tickets.
