View Full Version : Finally picked up my V

I have been on the hunt for about 3 years. It's an 06 black on black with 47k on it. Not even 2 weeks after I got it I did:

Clear turns
Clear fogs
Muffler delete (so quiet???? need headers!!!)
DRL delete
4500k HID fogs

It def spiced things up. Here's a few shots:

"First" impressions:
Faster on the street than I though... keeps up neck and neck with my boys m6,
shifter is ass
Seats are extremely comfortable
handles very well for a car of this size
the sunroof assembly is very loud, rattles like a bitch

Overall I love it. I am used to the power already tho and going to Slowhawk within the next few weeks for a cam and header install/tune. I am gonna tell him I want the biggest cam possible without getting surge at low RPM. I don't care much for low end TQ because I do a lot of racing where you are in the upper RPM range so I need that more than I need the low end "towing" TQ. Also I am trying my best to bang out this clutch so I can get an excuse to get an LS7 clutch or something like it. Seriously this flywheel is embarrassing.

Welcome. Do you just not like the flywheel feel or is it defective?

The sunroof might just need a trac lube.

A big cam could lead you to doing valve springs, double roller timing chain, and definitely a tune. Headers will wake up the audio quite nicely. Get a shifter, and you're good to go. Oh, yeah, lowering it makes it look better. Boy, it doesn't stop, does it?

V looks great. Too bad about the M6...I love the M5 from that generation, but the M6...I don't know what they were thinking with that design.

Get a flip plate for the front.

The mods/fixes don't stop. I've had my car for a month n a half and I'm $3500 into it. It already came lowered with STS-V wheels, rolled fenders, upgraded TB, K&N FIPK, & corvette FRC's.

Love the Caddy, but what's that grey car in the photo? Just kidding -- they're both beauties!! Congratulations!

Thanks guys! Yeah I just have that parade clunk in the flywheel and whatever else that's killing me right now. As for the cam I am still undecided because now I am considering a procharger or turbo setup and worried that a huge cam would make it difficult. We shall see.
