OK I know this topic is beatin with a stick big time but Ive got one more question to help me finally decide whether or not Im going to upgrade the exhaust........

Alright, I want add look most of all....(dual Chrome or gold tips)...and I know a camero style exhaust has to be used...now, I dont mind the slightest increase in noise, as long as its small V8 noise, I dont want the car sounding like there is a flowmaster exhaust in it.........if I took a used Z28 muffler, would it be alot louder like on the flowmaster/edelbrock level or will it be just a little more noticable then the stock system???? And would getting an STS dual be just the same as a Z28's or do you guys think there is a diff??? What do you all recommend??? Sorry for the beatin topic but this is the one decision I dont want to eff up.....I love loud exhausts but this is a mellow car witha cloth top and vogues not a Impala.

Im getting some money soon.....so im probably going to splurge and get the FastChips chip for the 4.9 and do some other things too like sheepskin seat covers ext....finally some mods..hah

i would imagine that a stock z28 dual outlet muffler would be a little quieter than a flowmaster/edelbrock etc. just think of the engine that cars got and how loud it is. its a 350 and i honestly dont think that they are THAT loud stock. youve got a smaller v8, i THINK (dont hold me to it) that it would purr while cruising, and have a little bite to it at wot.

the sts muffler i have never seen in action, but again i think it would be quieter. not quiet, just quieter.

yea thats what I was thinking too......I am looking at the Dynomax super turbo mufflers too, yet I still think it may be too much noise for a cruising caddy.

idk how much youre looking to spend, but theres a seller on ebay (performancecurve i think is the name, they may have a website) with 3 different dual exhaust setups for a camaro/fire bird etc. i got the cheapest one (IMCO?) and it came to i think about 75 after shipping. after buying a couple tools and whatnot the total cost was about 90 bucks. he also offers a magnaflow, which is roughly 20 bucks more, and a flowmaster 80 series which is about 115.

im very happy with the sound i got on my 4.5, its much louder than stock v8 mustangs. sounds rumbly at low RPM. no load on the engine at wot...step back my friend!

Thats all im looking for.....like a stock rumble from a mustang or LT1..........because when you get on those engine even with stock mufflers they sound great....

I just may check out a camaro forum to see if anyone has taken theirs off.

check ebay, there was a few kids that took them off their firebirds and whatnot when i was in the market. complete catback setups for cheap money.
