I saw this on another forum. Poor Tempest, that was one damn clean car.

Also shows you how much car safety has advanced, and how much Asian women suck at driving.

No real details, but the story is all over the car forums.
Most people can't get over the lack of side impact protection on the classic cars ... that Pontiac Tempest
basically imploded in the low speed collision.
Took place at a car show in California ... that's all I've got.

Tempest in a teapot...

No doubt another unexpected acceleration lawsuit. :canttalk:
She really hit that Poncho hard to shove it into the next car. The LeMans/Tempest/GTO was not a small car that year, I had one.

Here's a link I quite like, titled, "You Want To Park Your Pontiac In The Front Row".

Had that idiot broad plowed into Betty, I'd be in jail for at least assault, more likely murder. Or would this be considered justifiable homicide?

My sympathy to the owner of that Le Mans.

On that note, if you look closely, you can see a very upset woman, reflected in the window.
Possibly the owner of that beautiful LeMans.

That 40 Ford was pretty nice too. "Was" is the key word here.

One time while driving Betty, this dipshit pulled out right in front of me, and when I blew the horn, she stopped dead in the middle of the road. :wtf: Although I had already hit the brakes, there was no room left when she just stopped, so I ran into her POS Cavalier. I got out, saw Betty's pushed-in grille and told my then-wife, "You deal with her; I'll kill her."

I was afraid I was going to get ticketed and have to pay for the repair from my own insurance, which is usually the case when you rear end someone, but fortunately, she got ticketed for failure to yield, and her insurance had to pick up the tab.

Pulling in front of me and then braking in the middle of the road, yes, sounds familiar, it has happened to me too....:annoyed: So far I have been lucky enough to stop the car, however in future I may not be this much lucky. I have been thinking about installing in-dash camera to be able to prove that it was the other driver's fault... How could the officer realized that it was her fault?

How could the officer realized that it was her fault?IIRC (this was more than 10 years ago), she didn't deny it when I told the officer what happened. And since there was no stop sign or traffic light in the vicinity, there was nothing other than stupidity to make her stop in the middle of the road.

You've probably driven down the street where it happened — Alma School Road between the Superstition Freeway and Southern Ave. I think she pulled out of lot by the BofA building.

LOL, asian women drivers. Can it get any worse? On the local radio show last week, they were talking about the world's worst drivers, and in a break in the of the conversation, somebody dropped a sound bite of a gong. I spit my coffee from laughing so hard.

Yes, I have been there, it's almost near to my house. I live in E Mckellips Rd, between N Country club and Mesa Dr.

Shit happens and this is proof positive. It is rather disturbing how bad the Poncho crumpled up though.

This would be when I finally get to building my Mark IV, I'll be including some caging inside. I'll try to tuck it in and redo the interior so it doesn't look like a random cage in a Lincoln though.

A Mark IV should already have side impact beams in the doors.

A 73 Lincoln? I don't think they worried about safety yet at that point.

So the point of this story is, this woman was clearly DWO. Driving While Oriental.

The Mark IV had side beams in 73, the 72 did not. Hitting it with a Lexus and the Lexus might sustain damage. That pontiac crumbled up, which is not surprising.

Destroyer, I'm thinking it won't be nifty to be fifty when you get there! You'll find something to bitch about! No doubt. The alarming rate at which years are passing by is very disturbing to me and I don't take it well. Reminds of Rodney Dangerfield "Hey doc, I wanna stop aging...................he said get a gun!".
