: Finally got my new coupe. The dealer even modded it- now it's my turn!

I picked up a new Coupe on Saturday. Well, almost new. The dealer got it for a customer, added Eibach lowering springs, Corsa exhaust (coated black),had every piece of chrome blacked out, powdercoated the wheels and calipers, added black wheel spacers ( I haven't measured them but they look to be about 5/8") and had the windows tinted. The salesman drove it for about 300 miles, the buyer put another 300 miles on it , decided he wanted something else and gave it back to the salesman to sell.
It had 624 miles on it when I got it.
I got it for $64,000. I think I did well.
It already had all the appearance mods I would have done anyway, plus the exhaust.
We don't work on Monday so today was the first day at the shop. First thing we did was cut out that flattened pipe forward of the secondary cats and TIG weld in some round pipe. That flattened pipe is ridiculous.
We made a cold air intake from 4" aluminum tubing and used a filter from one of my Corvette supercharger kits.
I played with the tune yesterday and can feel a big difference. I'll put the stock tune back in it and dyno it tomorrow. Then start with the part throttle tune I already have and tune it the rest of the way on the dyno.
This is really just for curiosity as I'll have new pulleys on Thursday and will obviously need to retune it.
I've ordered the Innovators balancer and get the upper pulley and interchangable lower ring from Metco Motorsports as well. (9.10 lower and 2.55 upper to start)
I kind of want to run it like this for a week before I get into the cam and headers.
I have a few cams to choose from in stock. I'm leaning towards my Stage 1 (220-228) or Stage 2 (224-232) I'd like the car to remain relatively smooth so I'll be pretty conservative with the cam.
I'll have Todd at McKenzie cylinder heads port the TB and snout. .
My Trailblazer is running a built LS7 with water to air intercooling. We made the heat exchangers (2) and installed a 1600 GPH bait pump from West Marine. I'll do something similar on the V. I found a 27 X 7 X 3 1/2" core that looks like it should fit nicely.

I'm also going to borrow a Lysholm 2.3 blower from Vortech to see if it's feasible to make the brackets and pulleys to make it work. (I'm worried about hood clearance in the front)

I could not find my camera cable so I just got a few shots with my Iphone.

I thought the wheels and calipers were factory, but the dealer assured me that he had them done.

So far I really like the car and am looking forward to more power.

BTW: My regular account "Andy@AandACorvette" does not seem to work and PMing the mods has not worked.
I just reregistered under this name until they can figure it out.

nice looking car, and those look like factory rims and calipers to me.... the satin black option.

You got a handicapped sticker for that thing? Love it, especially the exhaust for the exterior and the DIY metalwork for under the hood. Bait pump, huh? Would like to see some pics of that install.

I'm honestly suprised that all you non-black V owners haven't painted the area underneath the lower grill like this...

personally I prefer it left the car color, but that's just me.

I actually think it looks pretty darn mean that way. These pics really have me thinking about some satin graphite wheels and black out on the chrome for my Radiant Silver hot rod.

Anyone seen any photos of a silver V with some black out work done?

J.

I didn't even notice where it was sitting. It's OK though. It's my parking lot and the gate was closed :-)

I meant to add on my comment that it's all what the owner likes! If you like it then AWESOME :) I'd need to see it in person I think. Regardless of what I thin, you still have a sweet car! ;)

Did you buy that from a small exotic car dealer in LA? If so, I looked at that car. Very nice!

Those are not factory calipers. Factory yellow calipers have the V logo in all black and the yellow is not as bright.

Looks killer!
