The fleetwood and some devilles were basicaly the same body wise from 1980-92 correct? Im talking strictly RWD cars. What different engines were available in the different model years? Trying to decide which one to buy next, any help would be great

not totally sure but it was close to this:
1980-1981 368,4.1v6,350 diesel
1982-1983 ht4100,4.1v6,350 diesel

The Devilles were RWD through 85, FWD ever since. For the mostpart 80-81 were 368's (interchangable with 472/500s if you want more power), 82-85s were HT4100s - try to avoid these, they're neither reliable nor powerful at all, they can get good mileage though. The 4.1v6 was rare, the 350 diesel was also troublesome.
As for Fleetwood Broughams, they were RWD 'til the end in 96. Their base engines were 368s in 80-81, HT4100s from 82-85, 307s from 89-90, and 305s from 90-92. From 90 on, a 350 was offered with the towing package.
In 85, the FWD Fleetwood appeared to confuse people, don't mistake these for RWD fleets.
