Just traded in my 2009 C63 for the CTS-V Coupe in Diamond Black. What a monster. I'm so happy I could cry. LOL. On with the mods. Exhaust needs upgrades first.

I wait on mods to appreciate the car first...

Whats your impression of the 2 cars versus each other? I love the C63s too. You're probably wise to get out of yours before the new 2012 version comes out with the refresh.

I've been struggling to make the same decision! I'm a GM guy and love the CTSV, but I just about bought a C63 a few years back and I've been drooling over the interior upgrades in the 2012 model.

Thanks for the warm welcome. A few answers to the questions above.

1) The C63 is a very powerful car. It has lots of grunt like an American Muscle Car. I'm a GM /Corvette Guy. I bought the C63 because there wasn't much in the GM pool at the time to get my attention. It was time to trade and the CTS-V LSA just called to me. The C63 handles a bit tighter and has a more aggressive exhaust note. The CTSV just blows it away in terms of acceleration. Bluetooth integration on the C63 is better than the CTSV, touch screen on the CTSV is cooler than the C63. Vented seats on the CTSV are just "cool". I like the seats in the CSTV (Recarro)better than the C63. I like the real LSD vs the electronic/brake solution for the diff on the C63.
2) I got the Auto because I really wanted the Diamond Black and there just weren't any sticks out there to be had in my area. This is a daily driver and I have the Vette to row the gears when I feel the need. This auto seems to shift a little faster with the paddles vs the paddle shift on the C63 but neither really is as good as a stick. They both lag.

1 Day in and I'm already thinking mods. LOL

I wonder if the DCT in the 2012 C63 will fix the lag. I'd assume so.

I was looking used at 2007/08's because I wanted to spend in the $55k range. The maintenance scared me away, I heard "Do not operate this vehicle outside of the warranty period" about 20 times and the MB extened warranty was $6,000. Other factor is I have a shop that can tear my CTS-V down to the nuts and bolts and put it back together. If the check engine light comes on in a Benz it would have been off to MBZ. I still love the lines of the CLS's. I haven't seen a 2012 in person looks like the made the smooth body lines edgier?
