I think you should have known the Escalade was a gas hog when you bought it. If you didn't, you need some help. There are some things like a new exhaust that you can get, but the amount of gas you save over the cost of that is really minimal. Good performance though, but that is besides the fact.

I get on average over 13 a Gallon. If you can keep the a/c off and make sure your tires are not low on air and keep try to keep you foot of the floor that may help. I do none of those things cause i never bought it for gas milage. :yup: :yup: :yup:

I get no worse than 12.2 - 12.4 around town, I just got back from a 700 mile trip, probably 90% highway and got 19.3, very pleased. :)

Hcvone, That was nice to hear for the highway mileage what year lade do you have. I just bought a 2005 and so far its about 12. 2 in the city is that all I can expect. I read all about it before I purchased, so the mileage is not why I bought it anyway. :)

I have an exhaust, Volant air intake and my computer reprogrammed, the computer reprogramming is the reason I get the highway mileage I get, picked up almost 3 mpg on the highway after the tuning, no gains in the city. My Escalade is an 03', I also have all synthetic (Amsoil) oils in engine, trans, transfer case and rears which helps too. You may get a little better mileage when the engine breaks in after about 15k miles.

I have an 05 EXT and get 20.5 down the highway at 70MPH...go to Mobile 1 and watch your air pressures. The less contact with the road helps. Stock tires and wheels. Don't use the cruise control, as I loose 10% of my milage. Keep your foot out of the gas as much as possible.

Remember to do the reccommended Northstar once a week Maintenance as posted on this site. At 55 drop into 2nd and go to 75 and then let the compression slow back down to 55 to keep the rings free. They do want to be driven hard and not babied!

Around town I get 16-17mpg.
Might have something to do with the electric fans too. Hard to say.

Several of our customers said their brand new 05's were getting better mileage than thir broken in 02's and 03's. :) Tire pressure is very important as you said. ;)

what do you mean about the cruise control?? i thought that would help your mpg since you're not speeding up and slowing down the whole time.
