Never seen or heard of one of these.

All factory, not a dealer/aftermarket/coach builder installed package? Does this guy know what he's talking about?

That's the Chicogo (aka D'marchand) edition... Distingushed most clearly by the red trim on the seats and the woodgrain (Cadillac offered other two-toned Black/Grey de Villes, but non had that interior from the factory). They are extremely rare; I think it was only offered in '79.

The add does mention the Chicago Deville, and Island Edition. Was it only offered in those colors?

D'marchand/ Chicago/ Islander it's the same car; it just depends on where they were selling it. Those were the only colors it came in.

It sure is a beautiful car. I wonder how much it will sell for? I would give $1k in a heartbeat and I don't even need another one.

It is a nice car.

Surely even in a depressed market coming off a depression $1k is verrrryyy optimistic...

My bet?? And I WORK at a dealer - one, two, maybe three dealers got together and had a trim package added. Couple of emblems and you're good to go.
Cadillac, in all likelihood, do no more than add their blessing, if even that.
I'd love to see the Monroney.
Where I work, we do leather all the time. Costs about $1,600 for anything that used to be cloth. I've personally seen Sentras and Rogues so sold, not a Versa, yet; but there have also been many Subarus as well.

P.S. Why no documentary evidence in the ad??
