.. And I was flirting with the 11's.

First run was my best: 12.14 @ 113.30 mph and 60' was 1.778... I followed that run with 12.5, and then every run after that was a 12.3x.

I will scan the slips in the next few days and post them for people to see.

I'm happy and surprised, and glad I got it to the track. The weather was low 80s, so it was pretty hot.

Met a guy with a Zr1, pretty unusual to see anything like that, or even a V at the track on a test/tune night; so we became friends and talked for a while.

Will post some pics and GoPro vid I got from inside the car in the next few days.

Congratulations on the great times. I'm hoping for good results tomorrow in my stock V. I don't think it'll be too happy running in Hawaii's bad DA.

That is a really nice 60' for stock tires. Makes me want to hit up PBIR, even though the weather sucks.

If you can maintain that short time in cool weather, 11's bone stock for sure...

My guess is that you left the traction control active?

Yes, I was surprised with the 60ft time myself. I put it in sport mode and let it shift. The button shifters are too delayed, and I ran a 12.5 when I tried them out.

And yes, I left it active except for the burnout.

Pictures and videos coming shortly.

Why do a burnout with stock tires?

BOYCHIKS
06-05-11, 09:18 PM
Because I could not get around the water box. Just a small one to get them dry.

I lied. I was looking at the slips and actually on the first run I ran it in the competitive mode.

What did the ZR1 run?

BOYCHIKS

The zr1 was running slow; best was a 11.9. Typically was running 12.0-12.2. I was dying to get a win from him.

he was a 400lb driver who was still learning to get it out of the hole and what not. I had a few guys in the stands say his shifting was off. I'd imagine it was with those times.

Next time I will be able to take it down the track, so I hope to get him a new personal best in that car... :)

Whoa!!! That must really throw off the balance on a 3300# car.

Yes, he was 400lb and was not ashamed. He knew it was an issue with his times, which is why he wants me to try it, weighing in around 150... He had a seatbelt extension as well.

Sorry for any delay, but here are 6 of the 8 time slips. Run 4 I tired shifting and ran a 12.5; I cannot find the slip for run 8, but it was another 12.3xx.

WOW !!
Congrats Boychiks, from your 1/8 time on Run 1 your 0-60 would be a 3.39 sec from the Wallace Racing calculator

That's pretty cool Claude. Thanks for posting that. I think the time is corrected to an 11.9x from the DA, but I only go what is on the slip.

I was surprised how well I was hooking, as I hardly dropped the tire pressure. (I think it was around 31-33)

Can't wait to go back in some cooler weather, would love to see an 11 time slip!!!

Great 1/8th time. That's all I have available near me and my best (out of five so far) was 9.0xx. I'm a lousy drag racer, but a full second is awesome! Kudos.

Thanks Mike. Believe me, I was surprised. I drag my Jeep SRT SC and usually pull a low 1.6 in that, running high 11's. I was expecting the V to see a 12.4 at best, after running the xlr-v at 12.7. So I was shocked to see that 12.1 after the first run!!

I also have the weight mod.... meaning I'm small, weighing about 150.

Looking back at the times, I'd have to guess my tire pressure went up, as the track prep was good and I was not cutting the 1.77 60' like the first run. Also, I was pretty much hot lapping and not cooling it very much; leaving it run in the staging lanes and so on.

In spite of my inabilities, I wonder how much a prepped track is worth. We run in the exit lanes at a stadium. Better than nothing, though.
