Well went and picked up my 86 Brougham today, got a few cosmetic issues but seems to run good (except it shudders when cruising along then i slow down and then accelerate again).

Light blue with light blue top

Has 5.0 motor in it.

has 68k on the dash ( there was new title reissued in 09)

Still has original front tires (the back two have been replaced)

a/c doesnt work ( was leak checked in 07 )

Missing front fillers

missing 2 hubcaps

cracked windsheild

dent in rear quarter panel

small rust spot at rear opera window were the vinyl top meets the body

1 rear window doesnt roll down

vinyl roof is dry and cracked

but engines seems to run well (just put it on the highway for about 70 miles), handles and rides real smooth.

Paint appears to be ok ( clear coat appears to be holding)

Interior has held up pretty good

Cant complain too much for only 700.00

$700.00?? Congrats, man! You´ll be able to fix those details listed above with the money you have saved. If interior and paint is well preserved and engine runs fine, maybe it´s a good deal.

hell, if it just runs good and reliably thats an awesome deal. the rust, dent, and other cosmetic issues can be addressed later as long as the main car is solid.
lets see some pics of the beast.

It's dirt cheap and seems a good deal indeed , not to mention these body style is timeless as well

If it's mechanically sound, for $700, you really can't loose.

Post some pictures!

Washed her up a little today ( had to see exactly what i was working with, plus i hate a dirty car )

Removed all the side molding ( it was discolored, plus i think it looks cleaner without it )

Front tires are not original like i thought ( oem is 215/75/15 these are 225/75/15 )

trunk lid is bent about half an inch, so there is a small gap when it is closed

small dent on the passenger side rear door ( noticed it when i took the molding off)

rear tires are 235/75/15

will post pictures later tonight.

$700 is a great price. The shudder may be due to tires/front end?

As a Cadillac fan myself, you have to

Those front tires look like Runway Enduro 75's.

I love that fat whitewall.

I'd say you did well for $700. bodys a little rough, but appears to have very little rust aside from the damage from the failed top (dents are cheaper to fix than rust). I'd consider taking off the top, fixing the rust and recovering it. those dents on the pass. side should mostly pop out. remove the inside door panels and take a look to see if you can access that spot from the inside. IIRC you can get into where the dents are with a board and a hammer or screwdriver/ something to put force on the board with. as long as you take time to think it out a bit (and have alot of patience and some finesse) you should be able to get those dents alot smaller and improve the look of the car.

btw, I think your rear fillers have been repalced at some point ( paint doesnt match/ no pinstriping)
also, do you have a hood ornament?

A little TLC and she'll be a very sweet ride.

I've got some fillers for sale if you're interested:

Yep, it has the hood ornament ( would not have bought the car without it ).

Yes they are Runways

I like them too, have to change tires because of the mismatch size, but i may keep the runways (just wish they had a gold stripe on them...lol )

why dont you just swap the runways to 1 side and the rear tires to the other side. visual problem solved (although that might cause a handling issue)

Fat Whitewalls are TOO sexy...

Fat Whitewalls are TOO sexy...

for my catwalk!

On a serious note, Not bad! I like the color. I had the shuddering feel when i got mine a few years back. It didn't like cruising on the freeways and going up steep hills. turns out that it was the fuel filter.
