VEHICLE
1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille

I've ordered and am waiting for delivery on a Chilton Manual covering 1967-1989 Cadillacs. I prefer the Haynes, but the Haynes only covers 1970-1993 and the Factory Manuals seem to run $60+

In the mean time, I've noticed a connector on the firewall for a hose, but with nothing attached. Below are a couple of pictures. This is on the PASSENGER side of the firewall/engine compartment.

Can anyone tell me what hose is supposed to attach here?
Thanx.

It’s probably a heater hose.

Do not buy the Chilton manual it is almost USELESS for a '68. I have one if you want it. 99.9% of the information is for the later years.

Get the CD of the GM Service Manual and Parts list. It is priceless.

That is your heater core and the two hoses that connect there are your heater hoses. Out and return from the radiator.

There is also a Hot Water valve that goes on the hose.

that looks like one of the lines from the heater core, either inlet or outlet hose.
