A tornado hit Missouri today. Fortunately, the storm was much weaker as it arrived in St Louis.

At 2:10 and 3:05 you can hear it hit. Sounds like a train plowing through the living room at 100mph.

"I love everyone"
"I love you"
"Jesus jesus jesus, heavenly father"
"I'm scared for my life"

The Basics:
Population: 50,208
Metro Population: 174,300

360 View of Joplin (http://occip.it/pt51c7s3)

The people of Joplin are in my prayers this morning. 89 people confirmed dead and you can bet the death toll will rise today. I have close friends that headed there last night with equipment and supplies.

eta: listening to that video gave me chills.

That's crazy to listen to. I can't imagine going through that in person. My heart goes out to those in the path of the storm.

Looking at those pictures sends chills down my spine.

What time in the day did Joplin get hit by that twister? Minneapolis and the north metro got hit by 5 or 6 between 1:45 and 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. An F-2 touched down in North Minneapolis and caused some damage (mainly uprooted trees and some homes lost their roofs), but nothing as bad as the horrors in Joplin. Has the NWS released the official rating of the Joplin twister? I heard F-4.

Oh that's brutal and I can't stop laughing.:hide:

Prayers to all those poor people in Joplin who have lost everything and their loved ones. I heard the tornado was 3/4 of a mile wide.

On a related note, the Pacific Northwest is overdue for a humdinger of an earthquake.
