I am guessing it only works for ipods and iphone 3? Is there a different cable for iphone 4? It reads the phone but no music comes out.

Are you talking about the cable that came with the car? It plugs into the aux port and the USB port at the same time. It works perfectly for my iPhone 4.

I ordered one from Luke and the headphone jack part is not long enough to reach the plug and have usb plugged in at same time. Also, the iphone says the adapter isnt supported... did i get the wrong cord?

You need to plug both the USB and the headphone jack into the car. The only part connected to the phone is the base.

Mine works fine with my 3GS and 4 with the factory adapter.

Yea, make sure both ends of the cable are plugged into the car. When I first got my car I only plugged in the USB and it didn't work.

from there, you can copy to the HDD unless they are the locked itunes mp3's.
