mail orders work great if your happy with average. However based that you drive a above average car I would think you would want the best. Mail orders can only take avg parameters based on input and then change so the computer can adjust accordingly. A tuner can read the engine and see exactly where you can get the most hp. Yes all these engines are similar but they are not the same. I have had 2 engines and seen 30 hp diff in stock. If you look at Gary Well's spreadsheet you will see all different ranges, granted dyno's play into factor, but still you will also see different numbers on the same dyno.

You live in Houston based on your location, why not go to G-force and have them get-r-done. It's who I use and I love the results. Not too mention he has a cts-v as a DD as well.
