: Strut bar needed a little TLC.......

While I await my new wheels......I've been cleaning up a few areas under the hood. Decided to paint the strut bar to match my wheels (race gold) and it came out pretty good. Just cleaned it with alcohol real good, primed it and sprayed. I have a few other ideas to try and spruce up an otherwise blah, plasticky engine bay:

I call it race gold.....Rustoleum calls it "Pure Gold". It was the closet color I could find to my wheels. I need something to do while I await headers, pulley, cam, wheels, etc. to all get here. I also added a Mobil 1 sticker to the engine bay and a "Cadillac" emblem to the strut bar. Parts need to get here soon or I'll start throwing port holes on the fenders :bonkers:

Honestly? A little off to me. If the body were gold, maybe. I'm going to paint the cast-looking base of mine semi-flat black (to make it disappear) then the rest brushed and semi-gloss cleared.

I'll have a few more gold accents (not too many)......just tying it into the gold & black wheels I'm getting. I'm crazy like that. ;-)

Looks good. I am not one to mess with the engine bay much though.

:devil:Looks great, can't wait to see the wheels on white d... 3M matte wrap the white and you'd have one unique ride

Ps lol at Curtis, other than tear the stock block out and replace it

I am seriously considering LSX CTS V. I ran this through our "pic a plate" on line and it is available. I am just too conservative to pull the trigger on vanity plates

pics of wheels?

It's hard to find a good representation of the wheels with the options I chose. They are Forgeline GA3R wheels with the centerlock option (one GT style nut). I opted to have the hardware unhidden so you can see the bolts holding the 3 piece wheel together. The centerlock hub/nut will be black anodized and the hardware will be black as well. The wheel center spokes will be race gold and there will be a polished stepped lip.

This wheel:

But in this color combination:

20x9 front....20x11 rear. A 12" wide wheel will fit in the back......just very limited in tire selection (305/315/325x30x20).

r u sure a 12" will fit? Guy tried it before and it didn't. I guess if you got the correct back space but...

D3 had a coupe up on the lift for awhile and came up with the specs and forwarded them to Forgeline. They said a 12" was doable. My goal was to have as much lip as possible considering the high offset we have......I went with the 11" width and the front lip does not change at all.

Yeah, we've got a Dallas V with 12" rear wheels running 325s.
