Has anyone else heard any rumors about the xlr coming back?

No. (Because there aren't any.) You don't make money selling 15,000 cars over six years, with 2/3 of them being sold during the first two years of production. RIP XLR!

yah,, in part because they are a $100,000 car with a radio/nav unit comparable to a VW beetle in them, and little you can do about it.

The Cien might make it and I hope with a V8.

I actually read somewhere that there is a plan under consideration to bring back the XLR in 2016. With updated electronics, body and drivetrain.

Who needs it if they bring out the Ciel. That thing is drop dead gorgeous. Knowing GM they will screw up the design and bring it out about 5 years late like the XLR.

It'll be back when the new Corvette hits, this time with the proper refinements and differentiation from the Corvette to really compete with the SL and Jaaaaag.

I would really love for the XLR to return as a proper Cadillac ! The next XLR should be based on a Cadillac specific RWD platform not based on the Corvette . For the amount they would charge for the car it should be a Cadillac and nothing else .I hope that if they build a new one that they fix the one major flaw and give the car an interior that is at the proper level of quality and materials that it's competitors are at . I loved the XLR but the interior was really it's weak link .

If you ever see one again it will be based on Alpha (the ATS) not on the C7. Y-Body will stay a Corvette exclusive after the last disaster with the XLR.

Besides I think an Alpha Roadster would be a better fit for Cadillac since you don't have to rely on the specific proportions of the Y-Body (high center tunnel, low slung roof, rear mounted transmission, limited cargo options in the back).

I sure hope the alpha based XLR has a V8 !

GM Diesel, "4-6-8 " V-8's, Cimmeron, phase I Allantes, Catara, XLR, Yeah, I am sure the "new" XLR will be better.
