: crimped section replace

had the crimped section replaced yesterday and this is what the installer found on the cat. this came straight from the factory. looked like the lip of the cat melted on the weld? this was on the exhaust and not the intake of the cat..

on a side note, the car is quieter inside and it seems to flow better..

That crimped section of the exhaust really bothers me. I am new to supercharged vehicles, so maybe on this car it is no big deal ...


Any data on HP increases from changing that section alone?

On a Turbo car, that flatted portion of the exhaust would really be a power restriction.

It's still a big deal in SC cars. Lots of us (myself included) have had it removed. I'll be selling my custom midpipe soon as I want to get either borla or corasa or Stainless. If anyone is interested...
