Our ride used to stall a few times a year lol . I plaid no complaint about it however it's stalled 4 times in 5 days since EGR Valve replacement .It only happens when reversing (with the gear in R no throttle just crawling) or stalls when coming close to stop in D .
Good thing is no more erratic Check Engine light and RPM is good no misfire . So, is there a way to diagnose this problem

I would reset the computer first.

That's just weird.
Check your IAC Valve (Idle Air Control Valve). It sits right underneath the throttle body. You can take it off and give it a throughly good cleaning, but for now what I would do is clean the intakes of the throttle body, at the same time spraying carb cleaner in the little hole that that you see that is directly on the center bottom of the throttle body, that is the hole for the IAC. It could help with your idling problems. They can get really dirty, full of carbon, and screw up the idle if clogged up which can also cause the car to stall out.
