how does the new mustang V6 performance compare to the old 4.6 V8? horsepower is similar but torque is lower on the 6. a new car is great but the prices for a 2-3 yr old GT are still pretty high. i see the camaro V6 prices are still crazy high. but its only 1-2 yrs old. and the V8 cars all seem to be SS optioned for big bucks. maybe a V6 car is for wannabes? too cheap to spend the money for the V8?

I think that Ford is really the company to watch. The current V-6 mustang makes as much horsepower (or more in some cases) than the previous GT V-8's. The torque may be a notch lower, but then, so is vehicle weight. Definitely a GREAT alternative if you want thrills for minimal cash.

They put up good numbers at a test track when you're flogging the piss out of it, but feel weak under normal driving and don't sound like a proper Mustang.

it is cool that even the base car from now on will have 300hp. same for camaro. so any 2011 stang or camaro you see for sale in the next 3-4 yrs will at least have some guts. funny the new hi po chrysler 3.7? which makes 290hp is not the base V6 in the new dodge trucks. sounds like the old 220 hp version. now put a 300hp V6 in a new ranger. do they still make the ranger?
