I can't seem to find much in the way of Cool V clothing or toys and swag. I like some of the auto pride stuff but there's not too much to choose from. Any sites or vendors to recommend?

You laugh, but I would buy that jacket in a hertbeat. Link? One man's trash is another man's treasure!

I bought a few thing from cadillaccollection.com. The link came in my v owners update email that I get.

Kinda pricey for their Ogio shirts, but they are good quality.

If there is a link for the jacket, I would be interested in checking it out too.

I have a V jacket. At a Cadillac event I asked a rep how to order a jacket. Its the same one the staff was wearing at the V labs driving track day.

Maybe if there is someone here that works at the Lansing plant. I know that the Detroit-Hamtramac had a store in the plant and you could get almost anything you wanted, nylon jackets, sweats of all kinds, t-shirts, hats. I talked to a friend of mine that still works there, about a month ago, and he said the store is no longer there, as a GM employee, I could get in and buy what I wanted. I still have 2 nylon jackets, embroidered, I've had kids jackets, pink Jacket for a girl friend. Indy 500 Pace car jackets. Now, about all you can find is golf attire.

Some of this stuff looks good but a lot is way too euro for me! I'm not a polyester kind of guy. Give me some natural fibre.

I like more classic cotton shirts Ts and polos. Things old fat guys can wear without looking stupid!

I am working out the final details tomorrow with my supplier. Cadillac signed off for permission to use logo today. I own the jacket already and the polo shirt i agree its too euro. I can change it for a nike polo shirt instead.
Respond with what your interested in so I can judge the demand.

Can someone tell me what i need to do to have a group buy? I am a supporting member already whats next?

I'd be interested in a T-shirt with a large V or the race car on the back and a small wreath/crest or V on the front.

I believe the supplier needs to be an authorized vendor to advertise a group buy.

I love the mesh type shirts....in the summer they are much cooler to wear, they dont wrinkle as bad, and they dont shrink when your wife dries them with the heat too high....grrrrrr.....

Hey Zero, put me down as interested as well. If you can fulfill the order within 3 months, you'll have the official GM supplier beat.

anyone know where this jacket came from? I tried to send a private message to e6t but heard nothing. I am referring to the red and black leather posted by e6t.

Thanks,

apparel items like this often made in a single run and are never produced again
(especially with a super niche item like V-series jacket)

you're best bet is to scrounge the internet (ebay, amazon, etc) to find one of the last ones that never sold
(if there is one of them out there - it's very likely that they all sold and you're SOL)

good luck

...

also http://cadillaccollection.com is where you can find all the licensed apparel that is currently available
if you search around there are also a couple other sites where you can find some stuff that's not available from the cadillac collection
(not sure if it's unlicensed stuff or old stuff no longer on the cadillac collection site)

DO NOT buy from cadillaccollection.com
I bought cuff links and shirt. $120 total. Shipping to Canada? $130 !!! WTF? The shipping fee was due on delivery from UPS (didn't tell me that up front). Told them to send it back to cadillaccollection.com
UPS "lost" the package but cadillaccollection.com still wanted me to pay for it. Multiple emails and calls went unanswered. When I finally got ahold of their customer service manager she was a complete b!tch. Took many more unanswered emails and calls until they finally agreed to refund me then broke their promise. Had to threaten legal intervention and a complaint to the better business bureau before I finally got SOME of my money back. BUYER BEWARE of cadillaccollection.com

I got it at the V-Performance School...it's made by Ogio and it's super nice and comfortable. Also at the school they gave us a very nice fitted Nike golf hat with V logo. Just has a tiny swoosh on the bill but otherwise stretches to fit and definitely quality! Now if only the Bose Earbuds they gave us had special V logos....

we've never had any problems with them ... but i've never had to call them up for anything either

but shipping stuff to canada does cost a ton ... there is no way to calculate the exact brokerage charge that UPS charges
the exchange rate changes daily and UPS just won't tell you what that charge will be ...

we got hit with the charge on our UPS account a month after we shipped something to canada ... that was the first and last time we shipped internationally

...

why didn't you just get your credit card company to reverse the charge?
that's usually easier than dealing with customer service

JimmyH

A shipper can choose to associate duties charges to the shipper (prepaid) or the consignee (collect). If they choose the latter, it is on the recipient to pay the duties. This is how it is usually done.

The credit card companies usually ask if you have contacted the payee before starting a chargeback.

yeah, but you still don't know how much the duties are going to be before it ships ... sure you can estimate with various online calculators

JimmyH

I just meant, some online sellers may choose to include the duties in the shipping fees, others may choose not to.

A large merchant who sells alot may have negotiated duty fees lower than smaller merchants who leave it to you to pay them. I don't know.

Order stuff from US to Canada all the time. This was the first time UPS demanded such a huge amount. Normally duties and brokerage fees are reasonable. This wasn't. Called VISA who wouldn't get involved. They suggested Better Business Bureau, etc...

Called VISA who wouldn't get involved.

I always try to use Amex for these types of purchases, Amex has a significantly better policy on halting fees when there is a item in question.
