My 94' Seville SLS has a P039 code on. It says torque converter/clutch engagement issue. I cleared the codes and restarted the car and drove it some more and it didn't come back on. However, I do feel a vibration when I first get back on the gas. Is this a serious problem or ?. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I posted a TSB on there a couple years ago that I found dealilng with this issue on VIN Y cars (SLS, ESC, DeVille)... Basically it's just a PROM upgrade that opens up the slip limits of the TCC... It's not a cure all, but it might help... It prevented the reoccurrence of P039 on my old 94 ESC for almost 2 years, until the TCC slip got worse and again set off the code...
It should be under the searchable archives or the FAQ section...
I'm not sure about the vibration as mine didn't do that...
