I recently bought an 07 sts, I was able to get videos to play from my ipad2 on my nav thru the aux inputs. I have an iPhone 4 and can not play videos thru the aux input. I can play music but no videos?? Anyone know if this is possible w iPhone or only iPad ? Is it possible to also have my iTunes albums n music info show on my screen?? thanks!

The same cable you use with the iPad should work, with video support, for the iphone. Specifically, this Apple cable -

iTunes track info/album art does not flow through this cable. Sure wish it did.

And of course, the video only works while in Park.

And it will only work with a genuine Apple cable. As of iOS 3 they added a check for their chip in the cable, if it's not genuine Apple the sound will work but not the video.

If you jailbreak your device, you can download a tweak from Cydia to fool the iDevice into allowing any cable to work regardless of the iOS

Didn't know that. Do you know the name of the app? I no longer have an iPhone, but I do have an iPod Touch.

Thanks for the info I updated my phone which I think did the trick. I am using Griffen cables and it seems to be working just fine. I also got the lock pick so I can play while driving. Thanks again

Does anyone else find it ironic that Apple, the favorite of the 'Arts & Progressive' crowd, is trending towards a business model that is more proprietory than any ever dreamed by their competitors?

Imagine... An OS requiring a specific chip in a cable...

Just sayin'...

i don't get where you see apple 'trending' in that direction... they've always been about total control

books and articles (recent stuff) talk about how apple has been and is still run like a dictatorship

... i guess it works for them though... they are laughing all the way to the bank
