Ree-car-oh

That's what I've heard--also Reh-car-oh.

But I did notice that Jay Leno said, "Reh-CARE-oh" in the CTS-Vagon clip.

The site doesn't provide a pronunciation: http://www.recaro-automotive.com/us/company/history.html

"The foundation for the present company was laid in 1963, as RECARO was formed as a play on words – Reutter and CAROsserien (coaches). The first RECARO sport seat was introduced in 1965, and in motor racing, the company quickly became a recognized brand name."

Jay Leno also says "nu-cue-lar," just like G-dubya did...

Good point. Drives me nuts.

Unfortunately, Jimmy Carter did so before dubya, during the TMI crisis, which took it more mainstream. And Carter was in the nuclear Navy under Rickover!

Sorry for the tangent.

"What?"
"They speak English in What?"
"What?"
"English, &*(^(&^&%&*$%#, English! Do you speak it?"

Unfortunately, this exchange from the Boondocks is all I can think of when I see people talking about "nu-cu-lar" and other pronunciations.

I had no idea that RECARO is actually wordplay, so learned something this morning. :)
