: CADILLAC V COUPE vs. FERRARI SCAGLIETTI

Last Friday on my way from Frankfurt to Würzburg (Germany) I saw a black Scaglietti in my rearview mirror. This was in a construction part where was allowed 50 mph. When the speed limit ended we both had an open Autobahn and pressed the pedal fully. I had my V up to 290 kph ( 180 mph) but the F felt back, not much but he couldn`t hold up with me.
After a couple miles when we came in another limited construction part the same thing happened again.
My V is such a great car, I love it!!!!! Thanks Cadillac for build such a great driving automobile.

if it was a 612, it should have summarily dispatched you at the top end assuming your car is an auto and limited. 612s will run close to 200... 0-60 is in the low fours.

i think the driver just didnt want to go that fast.

What car were you in? I see you drive a xlr-Sts-v.

Ummm, Harry's thread title says V Coupe. My guess is that he simply hasn't updated his profile. I'd bet it was a V Coupe.

And XLR is a roadster, no?

Were you being sarcastic? A Civic that is limited at 180 will beat an auto V that is limited at 175 in a top end run.

The V beats the 612 in 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

Wut?

Op said he hit 180 and the Ferrari couldn't keep up with him. I pointed out that he must not have wanted to because the top end of the 612 is greater than that of an auto v, or any stock v for that matter.

I merely pointed out that the driver of the 612 just didn't want to go that fast.

The specs on the 612 are very VERY those of the v. In fact, isn't the quarter mile time identical to what we see with stock v tests?

PERFORMANCE RATINGS (MFR'S EST):
Zero to 62 mph: 4.2 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 12.3 sec
Top speed (drag limited): 196 mph

I checked out yesterday test-numbers in my car-magazins (german)
V Coupe 0-62 mph (100 kph) 4.4sec. weight 1915 kg 6.2 Ltr. V8 564 hp 612 Scaglietti 0 - 62 mph 4.2 sec. weight 1920 kg 5.8 Ltr. V 12 540 hp
0-124 mph(200 kph) 13.4 sec top speed (export model) 6 Auto 187mph (300 kph) 0 - 124 mph 14.4 sec. top speed 200 mph (320 kph)

I know the 612 beats me on top end but not on the run from 50 - 180 mph.

The 612 is my least favorite Ferrari of the last 20 years or so. I saw 1 at a Ferrari dealership on the Champs Ellyses(or maybe it was Kleber) in '09. big and uninteresting looking.
I don't think it is that well loved among the Ferrarista either. There was a Audi S5 parked on the same street and it we looked at that instead(of course it had just come out).

You will notice the thread is still open. Until someone posts something stupid. So let's everybody not.

but on Sunday I smoked an 2011 S5 from a stand still, had him by 6-7 car lengths by the time I hit 85 and let off.

Strike One.

Hi Big Joe,
S5 only got 340 horses but even the RS5 with 450 hp can`t hold up to our V`s.

yeah, you are right, with this kind of american muscles delivered by Cadillac we`re ready to play with most other cars on the road.

I'd say quoting something as stupid is stupid. Just sayn... I've removed my comment. All you had to do was ask Mr. Moderator.

I am not going to lock a thread just because someone questions me. That's not me. You can question me and my methods all you want. I can take it. As long as the rules are not broken, this thread stays open. I am trying to HELP you guys, believe it or not, by warning you to stay on this side of the line, so this discussion does not go POOF.

But alas, there are always going to be guys in here who take offense to anything and everything. I cannot help THEM.

I'm not taking offense. You guys need to protect your website. It's all good. It could have just been handled better IMHO ie. not putting me on blast lol!
