I replaced the burned out parking lamp bulbs on my car with Sylvania Silverstar 194's. The color temperature is nowhere close to the HID's. Is the OEM W5W bulb closer to the color of the HID's? If so, I'll probably swap to them. The bulbs were already burned out when I bought the car so I don't know how they look.

Something is wrong here, The Osram Sylvania chart for the 2005 STS, calls
for 3757, Which is a Full size 32 watt wedge base, the 192 is a miniature
wedge base like used for the door, or side panel lighting ,or Dome lights about 5 watt ?
Maybe you didn't mean the parking lights, when lighted they are amber !
used this link:
The amber bulbs are the DRL's. He's wanting the peanuts in the lower corners of the main headlight fixtures. These are the parking lights that shine when the car is remote-started.

Yes, the peanut bulbs. They are also lit along with the low beams (HID's). The Sylvania web site is incorrect. The correct bulbs for these cars is listed in the sticky above.

The best bulb to use would be the 194 LED in "pure white" which is around 5000k color temp (compared to the factory 4300k of the low beams) this is the closest color that you will get, and its pretty damn close...
