I'm thinking of maybe compiling a digital version of the 94-96 fleetwood service manual by using my home scanner to scan each page of the manual i know realistically this is going to be a long process but i can get a few relatives to help me so i won't get bored out of my mind doing the same process over and over.

The process will probably take about a week cause i don't want to burn my scanner by using it non-stop or burn myself by being bored to death below are 2 samples one is of a page that is wrinkled which is the index page and then another page of the index that is not wrinkled i guarantee 95% of the pages not to be wrinkled mostly only the end index pages are wrinkled that's it.

I was thinking that if some of you are interested i'd be willing to do it for $15 a piece for each person who wants a set i need a minimum of 5 people to want this set i will begin scanning once i have enough people interested once i give you the pages you are free to do whatever you want with them.

I am only charging because it is going to take up a lot of my time and i need to tear the pages off the FSM in order to get good copies at the end of it all i would like to get a new fsm to replace it.

I have a microfiche set but after seeing in another post what happens when you egt it photocopied from microfiche to jpg/cd etc. i don't want to pay $200 to get that.

check here and you can see an example of the microfiche conversion about half way down http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=35;t=000512#000000

i guarantee the pages to be aligned and they will be .jpg format and they will be named according the page number etc. i will be keeping one of these for myself so i know it will be done correctly nothing half-assed.

let me know soon guys if this gets done it will get done this week only but i have to know a.s.a.p.

i can send a cd probably going to be a 2cd or 3cd set for $20 or i can put it on a site and let you download it there etc.

much easier i can put it on a dvd and it will only be a 1 dvd set

contact me through my email at ocjmakaveli@yahoo.com

first pic is of wrinkled page and second pic is of perfect page

Personally I still prefer my poor quality microfiches resolution better. :D

Can you turn into a text scan? Or black and white?

It it looked better, maybe we could load them both together onto one DVD.

he means instead of it being an image file, have it so that you can highlight, copy and paste the text from it. As for black and white, it is currently in grey scale, black and white doesn't really look good unless you have a good, clean scan.

I get what you mean so i tried black and white but I wasn't sure which file to save as..? hopefully someone can enlighten me on this? btw the picture did slightly improve in some ways but not in others. This was a quick scan so the page was a little too close to the bottom lol let me know what you think?

If anyone is looking for service manuals there were a couple Fleetwood ones on ebay for around $19 last week. It looks like ones still there.

To me thats the right direction.

The reason for it is so you can print it off, it doesn't print the whole page grey. Saves ink and time, that's all. And I think it's easier to read on screen.

Finally i figured it out if you want to check them out plz and give me some feedback on what you think

just for info i decided i'd like this because for certain reasons nothing will ever beat a digital copy of a book especially as time wears down are offline books and if you plan to keep your car for a looonng time i know the books will start to fall apart lol.

btw i like having my things on a cd or dvd instead of a 500 page book neater and i would organize it well

Or was he in B&W photo? Grey scale or documents is what my settings are I think. It's been a few years since I scanned anything with it.

I agree, and if 1 page or 5 can be printed more quickly and cheaper then I'm all for it.
