I have been looing over these forums and the net and have yet to find an ansewr to my question of how much does a northstar enginge weigh? Also is there a difference in weight comparing the Northstar engines used transverse the the traditional rwd setups?

Google says: They weigh about 400 lbs and with all accessories about 475 lbs.

400lbs? that is 50lbs more then I thought....

...damn, no wonder why the '79 was riding a little low in the back with the NorthStar in the trunk :)

How much is just the block with the crank installed? I had to have help carrying it, and was only able to lift it a very short distance.... for being aluminam, the damn thing sure is heavy....
