: Who is your favorite music artist and/or song?

For me it would have to be hands down

Don McLain Song American Pie

why im not really 100% sure i just from the first time i heard that song probably replayed it 15 times on the school bus on my first compact disc player never replayed a song before usualy just put it in plaid it when it was over put it back in the pack adn returned it to the library a few days latter
but for some reason this stuck with me
so did the cd lol
Library gave me option to pay 1 dollar per day late fee or buy the cd from them at cost
well cd's where not cheap at least not as cheap as they are now
what you pick one up for 8-15 dollars depending on who it is these days
where back in the erly 90s they where like 35 dollars -40.00 for a new cd 20 to 25 for a used one i think
so i pay 90 days over overdue fees or i pay 40 dollars for replacement easy pick lol

have had the same disc since

That's funny. You're younger than my dad by five years though, so I wouldn't feel too old.

You're freaking kidding me. Don't start a thread called "Who is your favorit [sic] music artist and song" and then, when someone posts up theirs, don't even give them the courtesy of LISTENING to their choice.

Next you'll be starting one about what people like to eat but then cry foul when someone says they like green eggs and ham!

I remember the first time I bought a tape for myself. My favorite all time song? I dunno, it's hard to tell. Springsteen's "Born To Run" is probably my favorite song though, as I've loved that song since I was about 14.

IxuThNgl3YA

That song is just filled to the brim with the hope & optimism of a young couple, working against the odds in a death trap town, trying as hard as they can to get out and make a name for themselves before it's too late. I love all the automotive references and the rocking beat and Bruce's boss vocals bring the song to a whole new level.

Springsteen is also my favorite artist as well. Notable mentions include Queen, The Beatles, Dire Straits, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Genesis

As many others, mine varies from time to time. Lately, I've been on a Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds kick. Most listened favorites include the aforementioned Nick Cave, Rush, Boston, Led Zeppelin (though mostly confined to the How the West Was Won album), Neil Young, and Robin Trower.

I don't care who you are - Robin Trower is f***ing masterful even in his old age.

We listen to what we like and even relate to sometimes. Just cause you listen to whatever music doesn't really mean that's who you are or what you're going to do.. lol Rock and Rap stars probably associate more with that due to some of the graphic ideas expressed in some of the songs. Some of the Sugar Honey Ice Tea, I hear now. I just shake my head at.

Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Mtune.. Back in the day we had more main stream artists and not as many underground artist. Now the underground out numbers the main stream, don't blame it on the music though. It's the consumers. If somebody runs you over in a CTS-V don't blame Cadillac, blame the driver. lol Maybe music brought the world closer.. It's good how we can be so diverse, but still understand each other on things. One thing I'll say about Rap is there is more quantity than quality. Don't let me catch any of you dancing in the mirror.. I'll video tape and youtube that joint lol

Being a fan of Oasis, I've really come to like this new band "Beady Eye". It's Oasis without the older of the Gallagher brothers, Noel. For those that don't know, Liam and Noel Gallagher never got along well and would continually fight on and off stage and would make for a very shaky feeling within the group. Without Noel in the group, I'd sure hope that Beady Eye would be much quicker to write and produce new album without the man drama between the two brothers.

Here's a single off their debut album. I love this sort of music..it's very poppy, catchy and happy sounding. It's got a great feeling that gets in your brain and keeps the day from getting too dull.. It sounds very Rolling Stones circa 1972.

For the time being.......favorite artist could be any of a couple dozen.........currently I'm back into Mark Knopfler - two excellent albums, sonically and artistically: Shangri-La and, with Emmy Lou Harris, All The Roadrunning. You need a good, high definition system to do these justice. They're stereo - the spatial and sonic presentation is utterly holographic.

IF I had to narrow it down I'd say "Detroit Rock City" from the 1976 KISS album Destroyer would be it followed by either "Paint it Black" or "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones.
