My best run was an 11.884 @ 116.16, with a 1.75 60', and with a DA of 7,000 feet. I launched from idle, DR's at 20 psi. Happy happy joy joy.

As the day got hotter and the DA went up, I tried different launch techniques. With a 1,500 rpm stall at 20 psi I spun and my 60' went to 1.88 and I spun on the launch. So I slowed down to a 12.01 with a DA of 7200'.

I lowered my pressure to 18 psi, launched at 1500 rpm, no spin but only a 1.87 60' time. So I went even slower probably because the engine temp was up and the DA was now up to 7,500'.

Seems this car still likes an idle launch, then floor it for a best time.

BTW my previous best on stock tires was a 12.21 @ 119.8 with a 2.08 60' time at a DA of 6,600'.

One thing that cost me time on my two slower runs was the car hit the rev limiter, just for a split second, on the 3-4 shift. Does the tune on these cars shift just off rpm, or is it mph also as it is on some newer corvettes?

Congratulations. Well done. Rest assured your best run is yet to come. With some engine cooling between runs and not hitting the rev limiter on the 3-4 shift you are definitely going lower.

From what I've been told the hitting of the rev limiter (on the 3-4 shift) can be eliminated in one of two ways. The rev limit on the 3-4 shift can be raised from the stock 6200 rpm to say 6400 with a tune or according to forum member "snzuloz" if the shifter is moved from "sport mode" to "regular mode" before the tranny shifts from 3 to 4 then he reports it doesn't hit the rev limiter. After it shifts from 3 to 4 he says he moves the shifter back to sport mode and goes through the traps with it in sport mode.

Hope that helps.

Interesting. I will have to try that if I don't have a tune the next time I go the track. My car did the same thing. Congrats on the timeslip.

Could you compare your actual before and after ET's and 60' times since going to the Mickey DRs ?

Congrats man, I always feel for you guys running those types of DAs.

As for hitting the limiter on the 3-4 shift....yes it's happened to several of us. I've yet to have that issue rectified in my current tune which is why I haven't raced this year yet. It has been MOST frustrating. I believe one or two guys have rectified it, perhaps they'll chime in on what they changed.

Thanks guys. That's interesting that I'm not the only one hitting the rev limiter on the 3-4 shift. I'm running Jess's tune, I'm gonna ask him.

Would be good to hear what Jesse has to say about the issue. Could you update us after speaking with him? Thanks
