: D3 Springs- To cut or not to cut-

I am getting my D3 Sport Springs installed in the next day or two and thinking about cutting a part of a coil for the front

I have heard to cut 1/4 of a coil on the top but not to sure what 1/4 coil actually means. Do I actually measure 1 coil and cut 1/4 of it. Is there any exact way of doing this or do I just have to make sure I don't cut too much and cut the same amount on the other side?

Also I will putting sleeves on the top and the bottom of the front springs to hope to eliminate any noises or creaks. Does the sleeves fit inbetween the top coils.

I actually don't have the sleeves or rods yet and they are being shipped by D3. maybe it will make more sense when i get them

Honestly, if you don't understand what you're doing, don't cut them, or you could ruin them. From what I read here, the sleeves go over the close coils to prevent metal-to-metal contact. There can't be creaking w/o contact.
