nice! if the D3 springs work on both sedan/coupe, do the eibach work on the sedan? i know they say coupe only.

I would say yes. The factory springs for Coupe and Sedan (and prob wagon) are all the same.

More details on the blue brake calipers on the black V! I'm going to get mine powder coated in "ZR1 blue," and that looks similar.

Stance looks great!

Any plans to paint the heat exchangers or blacken the grill on the Grey V?

When I complete the brake calipers in the next week, I will talk about them more. Waiting for my 360's to come in this week to help with the look.
As for the Thunder grey, he is leaving the grills as is, although I think the grills in black would look a bit more sinister. But who knows, things like this are always a moving target.

Both look great! Did I miss another post? What's the story on the matte black roof on your car? :)

He missed his old civic so much he decided to make an homage?

Im kidding... i think it looks awesome. all the way around, good-looking car! Actually both look really good. Very similar to my car with the exception of your car running and mine not so much.

I always enjoy reading the humor in your posts.

When the package is complete, I will post up a detailed photoshoot I hope from 360's photographer. At that time I will disclose all the little things done to the looks. Good eyes people. Good eyes.

Thanks guys...
As for the wheels, it's been a process but I should have them in approx 2 weeks. I saw pics of them cut and they so look awesome if I say so myself.

His (Thunder Grey) has Eibachs (1/4 cut from front springs) and mine (Black Raven) has D3s (1/4 cut from the front springs). So to answer your question, both cars.

Thanks for all of the kind words.

We actually cut a 1/4 coil from both the eibachs and the D3s in the front. I couldn't resist either, I had to do Mark's "getto" mode on the grills (LOL). Now all blacked out. When both cars are done with wheels ect, should be totally different.

All of my trim is in carbon fiber to give a slightly different look.

8th day creations (forum vendor) has the V decals for the calipers.

did u guys have to get alignments right after the spring install?

musclesbmf
04-18-11, 09:59 PM
The grills are all DIY, and I got slammed for being "ghetto" hence Todd's remark about the ghetto mod.
I got an alignment about 2 weeks after I did my springs.

Guys - questions...
any price vs performance diffs between the two? I'm in the market and indecisive on this one.
KillrV do u have a close up of the cf trim parts? I dig the grill completion w the black.
Mbmf do u have a pic of the 360 rims of the car? I dig the flat blk roof.

I'm sure I'll have mote but that's it for now. Fantastic work guys!

Steps for the grills After everything is taped off of course is simple... Scuff the surface with a scotchbrite pad, spray with adhesion promoter, 2 coats of duplicolor black primer, then 2 coats of duplicolor of satin black paint. Done...
The trim is wrapped in vinyl along with the cadillac emblem.

As for springs, my personal opinion is this... I think the eibach's ride better, and no squeaking has developed on his car. And, you can find these springs for as little as $240.

My 360's should be here next week. An issue was encountered but getting fixed. I've seen pics and I think it will be sick. I'll post pics when installed.

Thanks guys. The grills were easy, took longer to tape everything up with the blue painter's tape. Used a plastic adhesive, then black primer, then satin black paint. All from Lowes. I'll see if I can get a couple of snaps tomorrow when I get off of work for the cf trim. All wrapped. More to come!

Did you guys have to remove any of the chrome trim pieces in order to have them wrapped properly?
