Sorry for maybe sounding dumb but do you mean a dash kit with the 3m backing? I googled "Wood Trim Skin" and didn't see anything??? This is of interest to me as well as I have grown tired of the woodgrain.

yes im talking about the 3m stick on on made by remin I think. I know thats theres an other site that was posted before in witch you ship the trim piece you want to be plated with wood trim and they do it for you but im sure thats going to cost more then a few 100s.

My opinion is that it looks cheesy

I bought the whole kit, I installed it but did not like the look of it. I did keep some pieces on that look good. I will take pictures (provided I can post, this board limits new users a lot).

Where can you buy these from?

You can find them all over, two of the more reliable places from what I have read:

http://www.carid.com/cadillac-escalade-wood-grain-dash-kits/ (expensive)

They come in a bunch of different # of pieces, and you can even get some exotic woodgrains, Carbon Fibre, or solid colors. The one thing I noticed if you do not go OEM match, is that the kits do not include pieces below the climate control. So basically say you want solid red, well the arm rest strip is not included, nor the steering wheel, nor the centre console. May look a little cheesy with different colors. I'd say go OEM match is anything, if thats not you style you will probably have to paint the pieces you want done.

I hope someone can prove me we wrong tho! :hitstick:

those kits if installed correctly look real nice. Like baneman said though oem matching is recommended. And make sure u clean the surface real good or the will peel off eventually. and to clean it up i normally just use car wax and it looks like new after i polish it.
