shifting into neutral and all forward gears is very smooth, no sound or body motion. However, shifting into reverse from either park or neutral makes a crunch sound or thump and causes a small amount of frame motion. Its not very loud, but noticeable within car. Somedays it worse than others. No other obvious problems with trani besides that. Fluid is fairly new, good color and at correct level. I've had the car for only a few months so not sure what trani maitanence its had. Any suggestions what i should look at? thanks in advance

I'd try having someone put the car in reverse and see if an engine mount or tranny mount is broken. Have them go higher and lower with the RPMs. It's possible that the drivetrain is shifting around. The tranny usually doesn't produce internal vibration unless it's really smoked.
