Im looking into getting a 08 STS V8 that has 75k miles on the clock and there is another one I seen with 80k both have clean carfax history. I was wondering what is the average lifespan of a STS V8? Anyone with 100k + miles or on the verge of hitting the 100k mark?

I know all cars are going to need maintenance at that point in time but would it be worth the buy?

Thanx in advance...

In my opinion, assuming proper maintenance, most any motor these days can hit the 200k mark with no major issues. I might suggest, most folks here on the forum would tell you the electronics and other systems will give you more problems than the motor ever will. Others here more knowledgeable can discuss specifics.

I would tend to agree with that
Now that GM has the HG issues cleared up...(hopefully!!) ...the electronics are the things that will be more likely to give you fits

My 2002 SLS N* had 125k and was running like new when the nice young man who was smoking cracked dipped in PCP decided I no longer needed it. The car was totaled, I lived. Long story short, I would still be driving it. It did replace it with a 2006 STS N*.
