Hello, Just want to introduce myself to the forum.
Been peeping a lot to find information on the Cadillac CTS V 2004-2007.
I don't own any Cadillac but my brothers and father own one each.
Father is 2002 Deville
Brothers is 2004-2005 CTS

Been reading a lot. But I confused as how much the CTS -V really has in horsepower.
When you guys or should the CTS -V performance threads in Cold air intake.
Talk about how they make 320-330hp.
I thought the car is rated at 400hp?

Also I got the 400hp from motor trend and Wikipedia.

I'm not complaining here I'm just want true facts.
Looking for car in the 12-13 quarter mile.

The lower numbers are dyno numbers. A dyno measures the power that makes it to the wheels as every car loses power through the drivetrain. A car making 330hp has an engine making about 400hp.

However, the 2004-07 CTS-V needs extreme care and/or modifications to be an effective quarter miler.

Make sure to check out the CTS-V specific forums...

Why would one even consider a CTS-V as a "quarter miler"? This car was design to be a world beating "road course" car able to take on challenging road tracks competitively with the worlds best cars of this type. There are many other cars out there that would be cheaper and more successful at turning in 1/4 mile low times than the CTS!

I'm didn't state my intentions very well.
I'm not going to be drag racing it. I will be just having some fun adventures.
It was more of a reference point to the question that is asked most.
Which is how fast do you want to go?
My answer to the question is as the following 12 - 13 quarter mile / 5 seconds to 0-60.
If I don't get those numbers its not going to kill me. But I want as much information as I can so i can my a informed decision about what car to purchase.

Greetings and salutations.

And to (partially answer, IMO) orconn's question: Some people enjoy a nice bologna sandwich for the full experience. Some may only enjoy the meat, but not care for the bread. Others only like its classic look sitting on the table. Still others may only care about how fast it gets digested.
