: My Trunk lid is retaining Water...

Hello Everyone I just bought my first cts-V 2006 And I have alot of Questions :bonkers: Ive owned and still own 4 gens of Camaros but this time around I picked me up a Cts-v...(I have a newborn) and was the only way to get the wife to agree :lildevil: "Its a four door hunny".......

Well getting to my Question it has rained a few days..Strange I live in L.A... And I went to open my trunk and it had alot of water in the lid... Is this Normal?? kindda stupid Question but Unfortunatly like I said I have a newborn and as it is this is my 5th car not including the wifes and at this point if she looks out the window and sees me doing any kinda dismanteling... Im Screwed..lol

Please help

Its not abnormal to get water in the space between the trunk lid and the bezel that holds the license plate/reverse lights/chmbl. Water inside the lid though and not just leaking out from around that bezel would be abnormal though.

There are two rubber stoppers along the outside edges of the trunk, the part that's hidden when fully closed.

pull those out (don't lose them), close the trunk, and some of the water will come out.

either park facing up hill, or do some hard launches (more fun), and that will eject the water.

I've had the same problem. I think it's the seal around the 3rd brake light if I'm not mistaken.

Don't start with the wrenching. I'm sure you know but once you start you can't stop. I did a good job of trying to stay away for a few months (wrenching on the house) now that I'm back all of a sudden the water pump went....
