My understanding is that the new CTS-Vs do not have rain sense. I also don't remember seeing it in my V Coupe's manual. My SRX does have it. There is a vehicle on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190513648813&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123

The listing indicates "rain sensor". Being the good samaritan that I am, I emailed them that they may wish to correct it. They replied that they had confirmed it via window sticker. Did I get jipped?

2008-2009 CTS and CTS-V's had Rainsense available or standard depending on model. My understanding has been that the 2010+ CTS and CTS-V, as well as the Escalade's, no longer have Rainsense as one of the suppliers was lost during the restructuring in 2009. The Rainsense in the DTS, STS, and SRX are made by a different supplier.

That's what I thought. I wonder what he's seeing on the window sticker?

My understanding is that the rainsense wipers were available on the 2009 models. After that like 2010 they have heve been eliminated.

Is there a way to see the window sticker from the VIN?

window sticker on a used vehicle is something only a dealer is likely to be able to pull or locate.. i recall seeing an entity that provided this service, but i can't recall exactly where. the other option is to request the build sheet.

I believe that most '09 Vs had the RainSense wipers. My 2010 V does not. My wife's '99 STS does...
If you take your VIN to any (cooperative) GM dealer, they can run a "Service Enquiry" for your vehicle which will include all equipment and RPO codes/descriptions applicable for that VIN.
Failing that, try running your VIN on the www.compnine.com website. Click on the VIN decoder/RPO finder link http://www.compnine.com/vid.php
I think all 2009 CTS-Vs are entered by now and if so, your car's description should show up with all equipment and codes indicated. The site can be spotty in terms of having info for your VIN, but it's worth a try. Good luck!

Cheers,

Elie

I looked up the Vehicle Build on that VIN, there is nothing there listed as Rainsense or Rain Sensor

It came standard on my '09. The warranty was longer as well I believe.

There was no CTS-V in 2008 - only a standard CTS. The 2009 CTS-V had Rainsense as a no-charge option. After 2009, Rainsense was not available on the CTS-V.

New Cadillacs still carry the same 4 yr, 50,000 mile new car warranty!

New Cadillacs still carry the same 4 yr, 50,000 mile new car warranty! My '09 has a 5 year 100K power train warranty. The rest is the same as the newer cars. Perhaps it was an inducement since the company was in the middle of going bankrupt.
That warranty is one of the reasons I am really reluctant to mod the car. That is worth a lot.
