2010 3.0 FWD Luxury SRX/2011 3.6L AWD CTS Performance Sport Wagon
This is just a base vehicle comparison, and my personal observation only.
I realize I could have got the additional options on a SRX Performance model.

As I have mentioned, the Gen 2 SRX is an AWESOME vehicle. But coming from a Gen 1 SRX, which rode more like a car, the Gen 2, just wasn’t the vehicle for me.
I wish nothing more than happy ownership to you all.

Observations after 5 days of wagon ownership

What I like about the wagon:
Rides like a car, oh, it is a car!! and very responsive (sport suspension)
A whole lot quieter
Less gear searching
Waaaay more zip
A/C actually works!!!
Cargo fence
Seat memory, actually remembers!!!!!
Nearly the same cargo space
My Link
Rear View Camera
Fog Lamps
Evolution Green, bugs blend in.
The same sunroof as the SRX
The get the blank oughta my way front end appearance

What I don’t like about the wagon, and will miss:
Ambient lighting doesn’t continue to the rear doors, no floor lighting
A lot less door storage
A lot less console storage
Tighter cockpit
No power folding mirrors
No time display in DIC
Falling in, instead of sliding in
No push button start
No hidden trailer hitch
Cheesey sunroof shade
Not being part of the SRX forum (lots of good members here)

What I won’t miss at all:
SUV ride
SUV noise (road & wind)
Gear searching
Tranny Drone at 75-80mph
White Diamond. Though beautiful, it shows every chip, bug, etc

What I gained, and just love, but paid for it!!
3.6L V6
AWD
Performance Model
Performance Luxury Package:
Heated/Cooled seats
Heated steering wheel
Power tilt/tele wheel
HID Adaptive Forward Lighting
Passive Entry
Polished wheels

Very nice Jim! (While i'm not a big fan of Evo Green, it is a modern colour!)

And see, with my SRX, short of having the zip of a larger engine (worse economy??) and My Link, i have many the same features as your new wagon! I love it!

I have driven the Sport Wagon and it does ride more like a car. A very nice vehicle indeed!

I wish you the best of luck with your new Caddy GMJim.

Things I liked about the CTS SW is:
Rides smoother
More torque
slightly quieter

Things that I prefer on the SRX vs the CTS SW is:
I like sliding into the SRX
I like the darker grey instrument panel.
I like the push button start
Love the instrument colors (light ice blue background)
Love the LED Cadillac Logo in the door sill areas,
Love the LED Ice Blue accent lighting.
Like the low lights in the foot well lighting
Love the Nav Screen colors and it's features on the SRX. (I really didn't get too excited over CTS SW more tan/ brownish color Nav screen and the different setup and different radio station colors etc.)
Like the red & orange back up lines on the Rear View Camera
Love the LED lighting outside (front, Rear)
Love the look of the 20" wheels (both painted & chrome)
Love the sleeker lines of the SRX
Love the angular looking taillights.

*Many of those above reasons are because I like the SRX and or all crossover vehicles much more than I do any car. Perhaps it is because I have driven Tahoes, Yukons, Suburbans, Blazers for many many years. Plus I am getting older and I enjoy sliding into vehicles and not falling into them or climbing out of them. LOL

Again, best of luck with your great new vehicle GMJim! :D

coming from a 2008 Acadia nthere is a certain loss of bigness from my wif's observation. The SRX is underpowered and we have the lUx model, terrible low beams. I purchased the 20" wheels, they look much better. OVerall, I personally like the SRX but would like more power. GM should install HID's in all their models without an additional cost, for safety reasons. I drive the MINi cooper S and my wife drives the SRX

The wagon is sharp, and I've noticed a big trend towards wagons in this year's Auto Show. However, I need the higher seats. My back just can't take getting in and out of the lower seats in a car or wagon, or even some of the smaller crossovers. At the Auto Show, I didn't even get IN a car just to look....just so much easier and less painful to slide in and out of the SUV height.
