I've got the Bricklin and the Allante. A good project and a good sunny day driver. I think I'm over my limit of cars, anyway.

That being said, I missed out on buying a 1952 Crosley Super Sport in Vancouver (Washington, not British Columbia, Canada!) that I had no right showing any serious interest in. I'm the patron saint of orphan cars...

I would have bought my V-Wagon no matter what badge it was sold under, Cad, Chevy or Buick. For a run around car I'm thinking Mini or base Mustang. I think the Mustang with 304hp at 23K, or so, is a real bargain.

I'm probably going to get my '97 Riviera S/C back from my Dad once the Concours and the white RMW are gone.

He never really cared for it (my Mom was the one who liked it, which is one reason why I don't want to get rid of it) and it's one of the nicest, lowest mileage Rivs out there.

Plus, I want a coupe. I never should have gotten rid of it for the ETC...

He may buy my Concours, the white RM wagon, both, or neither from me -- and then either keep or sell his 300M.

Well I don't own a Cadillac, but....

I'd love a big soft cruiser. Something fun to cruise around in, enjoy the scenery, watch the miles roll by and crank some good tunes. A sports car is fun, but it's only gonna get you in trouble. Otherwise, if I had my daily driver and my big cruiser, I'd like something small and very good handling. I've been thinking about buying a Miata if I ever came into that sort of situation, because while being very fun to drive and reliable, they're not speed demons and won't attract constant police attention.

From everything I've heard about the S2000, that's about ALL it's good for. Awesome car that many have tried, and failed, to tame as a daily driver... ouch.

The S2000 I drove needed excessive RPM's to develop power. If I want a rice-rocket, I'll buy a motorcycle.

I'd really like one of those or a Miata. The #1 requirement of a "toy" car is for the top to go down. I'd also like a C6 Vette convertible, manual trans of course.

Or to go the complete opposite way in convertibles, a 65-70 Cadillac, 61-68 Impala SS, or 63-66 Bonneville. I love the tacky 50's cars, but the clean lines of the Bill Mitchell era are more my style.

Yea, I would definitely want a convertible as a "fun" car. The 330Ci pretty much takes care of everything I need, and the ZHP performance package adds some zip without going to the teeth chattering lengths of an M3 or S2000. Then again, I might have enjoyed my M3 more if I didn't have to drive it every single day.

The E46 has a small interior though. Ingress/egress for a big dude is kind of a pain.

You should consider something attractive and roomy like a SEBRING CONVERTIBLE.

sebrings are lame.

heres my actual "fun" car (weekend cruiser). Its an '83 lesabre with under 67k on the odometer. the original owner bought it new in 1983 when he retired and drove it until 1986 when he died of cancer. the car was passed to his son and sat in the garage for over 20 years and was driven only once or twice a year. I bought it from the son of the original owner, who sold because his girlfriend wanted him to.
Its amazing how many people get confused when I tell them its from 1983. everyone seems to think its a new car. If only buick made anything remotely this cool anymore.

its got the 307. it hauls really good for a 307 though. sub 10 second 0-60 (not bad considering the 442 of the era did 0-60 in 9 seconds.) it has a limited slip diff and does burnouts on demand.
I've thought about road wheels, but I'm not sure it they'd look right on a 4 door (they look sick on coupes)

I don't understand why people keep saying that the SUV is the modern day full size, body on frame luxury sedan. I mean yeah, they're both body on frame and big, but the luxury sedans weren't ever meant to be as utilitarian as the SUVs, they ride so much better, get better mileage and are a whole different sort of vehicle!!

You sure are defensive about them old boats. I just meant that that is exactly what people say about SUVs today. Don't read so much into it.

Btw, SUV ride and handling has come so far in the past decade that many of them would eat those old cars for dinner. Hell, the Escalade has Magneride now for pete's sake.

Oh I don't doubt that Ian. Most of those big cruisers were so softly sprung and heavy that a modern day Suburban would pull much better numbers than them on the skidpad.

A car for fun and hobby... Well, an obvious answer seems to be an sports & muscle car! However, for me, a Cadillac can be a car for fun and hobby too...

Lets put it in another way... Most of modern men prefer shorts, t shirts and sandals as clothing for hobby time.... But I like suit!

I find fun with driving my Cadillacs, they are fast enough to make fun of honda guys, I get enough hobby with my Northstar project.

I kinda like off roading but I do not want to make a Caddy dirty. If I get one, it would be any pickup truck with 4wd capabilities. Must be a real truck, not something like a ridgeline.
