I am not uncaring of the human tragedy unfolding in Japan but there are other implications, too. This is a car forum. Did you hear/read about all the factory shutdowns? Thousands of cars were destroyed waiting shipping, too. I even read of Toyota & Subaru assembly plants in Indiana cutting hours.

Anyone know what models are built exclusively in Japan? Supplies will be limited and growing more so.

all lexuses (lexii?- whatever) and priuses (prii?) are made in japan.

I agree that the event is a great tragedy. But something like this could allow the US to advance it's market a little (cars, electronics, etc.)
