Interested in installing these somewhere on the car, but only if it would look nice or even OEM.

What do you guys think , is there anywhere that they could fit ?

Or put them up in the rear deck window facing rearward! Sorry but I had to throw that in and now do you see what happens when one buys a Cimarron.

Or, they could go in the trunk to supplement the lighting there. I just don't see them ever looking OEM, or for that matter looking like they belong on the car, unless one found a way to include them "inside" the headlamp housing.

Unless you could put them on the outside, like near the lights I don't think they would look good. I mean you could not put them in the grill which would be easiest.

Not sure they would fit within the headlight housing itself or if that is even feasible.

Personal choice but I just don't like them on the Audis so I doubt I'd like them on and STS.

I would agree that it will be difficult to make these look good, but I fully support DRL's. They are just a good idea, period. My car is a US vehicle but when it was imported, the dealership had to ensure DRL's were enabled as it's law in Canada. Am I correct in assuming your car doesn't have them? Were you just thinking of supplementing them with the ones you posted?

GM began installing DRL's in 1993 and in '97/98 expanded DRL's to all model lines. All US STS's have DRL's

I kind of wondered about the STS because according to my dealership, they had to activate them when they brought it into Canada so I wasn't sure. Every time I travel to the US I see most vehicles still without DRL's. GM definitely has them available on many lines (and has for years) but I don't get the impression they are always activated unless it's an export vehicle.

I'm really glad they switched from reduced power high beams to the amber lights.

GM DRL's on US cars are always activated from the factory unless you order a specific RPO code when buying new from a dealer, or they have been de-activated by someone after purchase. DRLs are not mandatory in the US so there are some makes and models that don't have them but to the best of my knowledge all GM models have DRLs

I do not think this is a good buy idea. I'd recommend the adhesive LED strips that attach to existing body paneling if you really wanted the LED light look. If you choose to buy that I'd say place them in the bottom center opening and maybe tint them out with black spray so they are not a day time eye sore.

FWIW, DRLs are illegal in Alaska but the law is not enforced. It's have the headlights on or nothing if you're moving in the daylight. If you have the parking lights or something that looks like parking lights on you should be parked.

So Koz, do you just leave your rain-sense wipers on or did your dealer change the car's defaults?
